Our mission, our goals The Welfare Community of Practice strives to provide science-based and peer-reviewed information regarding animal welfare to livestock and poultry personnel and to consumers and the public. Our national effort also allows for expertise to develop new, educational materials and learning opportunities to address current issues and respond to future issues as they arise. Our community will make every effort to remain a reliable, long-standing resource that responds promptly to the questions and concerns of our community of interest. Our community resources s of the following species will s of the following species will be included in the resources provided by the community: cattle (dairy and beef), sheep, goats, horses, camelids (llamas and alpacas), poultry (chickens and turkeys), and swine. Additional content areas will include: ethics, housing, disease, transport, handling, slaughter, euthanasia, and pain and distress.
